Ongoing Events:

**Charlottetown Royal Canadian Legion  and Crossroads Volunteer Fire Department of  Stratford, two non for profit organizations have joined together in a chase the ace project which already has a jackpot pay out of more than $12,000.  You can by your tickets for the weekly draw which is made each Saturday, 7:30 pm at the Legion Home.   Tickets are on Sale at the Legion Home Monday to Friday, Noon hour to 9 pm and on Saturday from noon hour to 7:15 pm. Crossroads Fire Department sell tickets at the fire department (located south west end of the Mason Road) Tuesday from 7 to 9 Pm and Wednesdays 5 to 8 pm. You can also buy tickets at the Town of Stratford’s Town Hall on Saturdays 10 am to 4 pm. Tickets are $5.00 each and you do not have to be at the draw to be declared a winner.

**Free Line Dance instruction and practice from 7:00 to 8:00 pm on Monday Evenings starting December 7th in the Upton Room of the West Royalty Community Centre. Enjoy learning line dance and practicing dances. No partner required. Wear light weight clothing and bring indoor shoes. Facility provided by Parks and Recreation Department of the City of Charlottetown. No admission fee.

***SQUARE DANCING LESSONS, Wednesdays, at the Murphy Community Centre, Rm. 303, Richmond St., Charlottetown, 7 – 8:30 p.m.  Beginners welcome and a partner is not necessary to attend.  Dress is casual and there is no charge. For more information call 902-629-1869.

***The Association of Rural Community Halls (ARCH PEI) in partnership with the Atlantic Presenters Association (APA), is thrilled to announce the second tour in its new Rural Routes performance series, thanks to the support of Canadian Heritage, Province of PEI and Secrétariat aux affaires intergouvernementales canadiennes. 

‘Rural Routes’ is the product of several years of creative discussion by ARCH members who had a desire to see more cultural performances in rural communities across PEI. Series members are taking part in professional development and programming workshops, with the goal of building capacity in venues that would like to host live performances more regularly throughout the year.

Current Events

***Holland College School of Performing Arts Music Performance Student Showcase April 7, 7 p.m. at the Florence Simmons Performance Hall, Holland College Prince of Wales Campus, 140 Weymouth Street, Charlottetown.***

Students in the program come from as far afield as Moscow, Sweden, Zimbabwe, the United States and Mexico, as well as from other parts of Canada and the Island. The student showcase gives the students the chance to show family, friends, and music lovers from across the Island their exceptional talents in R&B and jazz ensembles, as well as opera and original material from singer songwriters in the class.

Admission is $10 per person. Tickets for the concert may be purchased in advance from the Florence Simmons Performance Hall box office during regular business hours, or from students and staff of the Music Performance program.

***RCMP Musical Ride coming to Charlottetown! Diabetes Canada PEI Region, will host the RCMP Musical Ride for two shows, July 15th & 16th 2017 at the Eastlink Centre in Charlottetown Attendees will be treated to a spectacular showcase of Canadian heritage and tradition. The Musical Ride, best known for stunning choreography and horsemanship, is touring across Canada as part of Canada 150 celebrations and Charlottetown is the only stop on PEI this year. Don’t be disappointed—get your tickets now before the shows are sold out!

***50’s 60’s concert ‘Why Do Fools Fall In Love?’  – April 1 at 7:00 pm – ‘Why Do Fools Fall In Love?’ 50’s, 60’s, 70’s music concert at Park Royal Church featuring The Blue Crystals, Big Bopper, Elvis and many more artists – wear your poodle skirts and saddle shoes, bobby socks and bandanas! MC will be your own Ron Gillespie, along with Minnie Pearl. Promises to be a fun and lively evening with a few surprises!
