Well it’s not as if they needed it, but looks like Queen’s status as Rock and Roll Gods will be even more solidified at the Grammy’s this year, because they’re set to receive the coveted Lifetime Achievement Award — which is only handed out to performers who, during their lifetimes, have made creative contributions of outstanding artistic significance to the field of recording.

Considering the estimates of their record sales range from 150 million to 300 million records, making them one of the world’s best-selling music artists of all time. So the award’s pretty warranted.

Queen also received the Outstanding Contribution to British Music Award from the British Phonographic Industry in 1990. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001 (which you can watch below).

Each member of Queen has composed multiple hit singles, and all four band members were inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2003.

LONG LIVE THE QUEEN!
