What was Keith Richards told to do as part of his Toronto drug arrest in 1977?
Have the Rolling Stones hold a benefit concert
More than a year after his 1977 arrest for heroine, Keith Richards stood in front of a Toronto judge, in a court room full of his fans to learn his fate. While he could have faced up to seven years in prison, the judge had a different idea; one year of probation and a Rolling Stones benefit concert for the blind.
The benefit concert for the CNIB took place on April 22, 1979 at the Oshawa Civic Auditorium.
